
Call it destiny or a "calling", D. Solo is drawn to the music Industry. He has
been involved with music most of his life. "Music is in my veins, My
mother would take me to Gonzales, TX every summer. I
couldn't wait to get there because my uncle, O. S. Grant had a band
and he often let me sing and dance with the band. I grew up in a
musical family, so putting on a show was never a problem. I often
still listen to my Great Uncle, the late Blues Singer "Bud Harper",
It grounds me and has formed me musically. Being around a family
who loves music and kept me involved with music help to shape my
future.
A native of Corpus Christi, Texas, D. Solo
started his “on
air” career
in 1992 where he was an on air jock for
Clear Channel’s
97.9 THE BOX, D.
Solo had the #1 weekend show in Houston, Texas.
In 1994 D. Solo continued to grow his career.
He jumped at the opportunity to host and produce his very on Kids TV
show, “The Disney Afternoon”, backed by Gaylord Entertainment .
After gaining hands on TV experience, help prepared D. Solo for his next goal.
He was now ready to merge his two passions, TV and Music, to
form Street Flava
music video show.

D. Solo busy around the city and in the
communities, talking to groups of kids in his off
time to sponsoring community events. D.
Solo not only Host Street Flava he is also the Program Director of
the show, in addition to being a national voice talent for the
biggest record labels in the business including: Bad Boy, Columbia,
Def Jam, Island Def Jam, Virgin and Universal Records.
D. Solo has become Houston’s authority on
Hip-Hop, R&B, Rap, Reggae and Latin music and frequently makes guest
appearances on local radio and TV stations as the expert in the
industry.
